2023 Pax River Raiders Cheer

PRR Cheerleading Season begins Aug 1st to approximately the end of November. The total number of games cheered for will be based on the Football Teams/Divisions, typically there are 10 Regular Season Games, and any addition games will include Pre-Season Games, Playoffs, Super Bowls, and any addition State Playoffs that are the discretion of the Cheer Team Coach.

Cheer Squad Divisions

Cheerleaders will be placed on squads based on their birth year. Cheerleaders could be moved up to the next age bracket to allow us to balance squads with an adequate number of cheerleaders and ensure proper instruction and coaching. Each team will be given the opportunity to compete at a SMYAC level competition.

This year’s cheer squads are: 

  • Tiny Explosions (5-7)
  • Mini Energizers (7-9)
  • Youth Extremes (9-11)
  • Junior Enforcers (12-14)

What does Registration cover?

  • Usage of Uniform (bloomers to keep)
  • Cheer Shirt
  • Game Sock and Bows (regular season & breast cancer)
  • End of Season Trophy
  • Entry to 1 SMYAC Competition
  • League Fees

Additional items that Parents may purchase:

  • Lady Raider SWAG from Spirit Store
  • Cheer Shoes (All white)
  • Additional Competitions

Practices

Official practices start the first week of August and occur 3-4 days per week depending on the coaching staff. You will be contacted by your players coach at least two weeks before the 1st practice.

Game Schedules

The Regular Season typically begins the last week of August; Cheer Schedules will be produced once the Football Season Schedule is available.

2023 Pax River Raiders Fall Tackle Football

SEASON INFO:

Our season runs from August 1st to approximately November depending on whether a team qualifies for the SMYAC Championships.

Our regular season is typically 8-10 games, followed by playoffs (for those teams that qualify). Playoffs begin Mid-Late November extending for 2 weeks.

GAME SCHEDULES:

Most games are played on Saturdays. However, teams may play weekday evening games in the event of inclement weather. In the case of game cancelations, PRR will notify the respective teams about rescheduling.

PRACTICES:

Practices typically will run Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday nights from 6PM to 8PM. First night of practice will be held in shorts, T-shirts, cleats (tennis shoes for those that haven’t purchased cleats yet) and helmets (w/mouth piece) only. Your respective coaches will provide further guidance on wearing equipment later in the week.

EQUIPMENT:

The Raiders will provide: On Loan : Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Game Pants w/no pads. To Keep: 1 Mouth Piece, Game Socks, and Game Jersey.

You will need to purchase: Compression Girdle, knee pads, cleats, extra mouth piecea, chin strap, practice Jersey.

You must be paid in full to receive equipment and may be required to pay a deposit.

Pax River Raiders Coach’s Mission and Application

 

It is the purpose of the Pax River Raiders Youth Football and Cheering Association (PRR) to encourage the healthy growth and development of our youth as they learn the fundamentals of tackle football and stunt cheering. It shall be the purpose of all PRR coaches to foster the highest standards of citizenship in the community by all members of the program. They shall provide a safe and positive environment to encourage the growth and development of each student athlete to the best of their ability. They must always reinforce the positive aspects of athletic participation such as having fun, building camaraderie, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

The Pax River Raiders Youth Football and Cheering Association will not discriminate against any person(s) seeking the opportunity to volunteer and participate in any capacity on the basis of race, creed, color, natural origin, marital status, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.

 

Purpose: This form allows the PRR Board to follow a regimented process for the review and selection of volunteers to fill Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions within PRR for the upcoming 2015 Season. Having prior coaching or volunteer experience at any level is not a requirement for application with PRR. Prior to any individual being appointed as a PRR Coach they must submit a completed application, agree to a background check/investigation and interview with the PRR Board.

 

Privacy Policy: St. Mary’s County Parks and Recreation collects information from coaching applicants for the purposes of determining eligibility and suitability and to conduct background investigations necessary to insure the safety of our participants, we will not disclose applicant information to any third party in the event an applicant is not eligible to participate in our programs.

 

Instructions: Please fill out ALL information requested. No person shall be considered for any position within the PRR coaching staff until a completed application is submitted and approved by the PRR Board. Also, by volunteering you agree to follow all rules and regulations as set forth by PRR and understand that failure to comply with all rules can result in termination as a volunteer coach. All applications are subject to review and approval by the PRR Board.
